    Represents the interests of all stakeholders, sponsors, and potential users. The Product Owner is responsible for understanding the vision as defined by the Product Manager. The Product owner is responsible for communicating the epic vision and collaborating closely with the delivery team during planning and review ceremonies. The Product Owner leads the product team in decomposing the Epic(s) into features as well as creating and prioritizing the Product Backlog. The Product Owner provides clarification and feedback to the team, and ultimately accepts or rejects work results. The Product Owner has the ultimate responsibility for the priority of items in a release and negotiates with stakeholders related to the scope of those release items.

    Works closely with product managers, business stakeholders and delivery teams to quickly and consistently deliver customer value

    Is the liaison between product management and the delivery team

    Works with the delivery teams to set clear expectations around acceptable deliverables

    Collaborates with the delivery team to generate epics/features and continually mature the backlog focusing on delivering against our visionary themes, strategies and evolving the value delivered to our customers to include:

    • Definition and decomposition of features and epics for the product
    • Prioritization of the backlog to drive iterative content
    • Definition of acceptance criteria for features

    Decides most appropriate release date for content, adjusting features and priorities as needed

    Coordinates with other teams to prioritize features and stories with external dependencies

    Leadership/Supervisory Responsibilities:  

    Directly supervises 0 employees

     

    The product owner is responsible for defining and prioritizing the team backlog and must provide leadership to get work done via the delivery team. This position has significant relationships outside of the delivery team in working closely with the Product Manager and other product owners to insure the solution delivers on product priorities and the product vision.

     

    Position Qualifications

     

    Qualifications/Education/Certifications:

    Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Working experience in product ownership helpful but not necessary (does NOT need to be Healthesystems or Workers’ Compensation domain specific )
    • Strong problem solving skills and the willingness to roll up sleeves to get the job done
    • Highly skilled in setting priorities in alignment with the need to achieve the organizational goals and vision
    • Must be able to handle conflict effectively and drive for results
    • Strong analytical and quantitative skills and extreme comfort with data-driven decision making.
    • Functional/technical aptitude and an ability to understand and discuss architectural concepts, schedule tradeoffs, and assess new opportunities with delivery team members
    • Excellent user experience intuition with demonstrated success in creating innovative, user-friendly applications
    • Ability to translate strategic differentiators into innovative and detailed product features
    • Skilled at working effectively across the organization and with external customers
    • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills

    Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

    Duties are performed primarily in an office setting. Travel to attend meetings and visit locations throughout the country may be required. Operate computer and standard office equipment such as telephone, copier, and printer. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
