  • Summary

    Responsible for provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software and related infrastructure in an enterprise environment.

     

    Key Responsibilities - To simplify complexities for each customer

     

    Customer Service

    • Respond to requests for assistance within established SLAs. 
    • Participate in after-hours, on-call support rotation.

     

     

    System Administration

    • Collaborate across IT functional teams to resolve complex issues or assigned tasks as well as design, evaluate, implement, and maintain approved modifications to systems and services. 
    • Perform daily system monitoring, server integrity checks, review system and application logs, and verify scheduled job completion (e.g., backups, batch processing, etc.). 
    • Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures for all systems administered. 
    • Manage the service catalog of enterprise infrastructure hardware and software including corresponding licenses.
    • Manage existing templates and configurations to ensure function environments for developer software

     

    Project Management

    • Complete task and project assignments adhering to established timelines and meeting defined objectives.

     

     

    Documentation

    • Document all support-related activities and report issues using the ticket management system. 
    • Create and maintain technical documentation including standard operating procedures, user guides, knowledge base articles, and system configurations.

     

     

    Process Improvement

    • Evaluate completed work requests to assess resolution, identify recurring problems, and initiate corrective action.

     

     

    Professional Development

    • Stay informed on current and emerging technologies and standards. 
    • Identify key gaps in technical and procedural knowledge and create action plans for continued professional development. 

    Position Qualifications

    Qualifications/Education/Certifications:

    Associate’s degree; Bachelor’s degree preferred, plus minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Variable work hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required due to the nature of installed technologies and utilization requirements.

    Required:

    • Must be comfortable with change, close collaboration, and have conflict resolution skills. 
    • Knowledge of or willingness to learn Agile / DevOps values. 
    • Proficiency in at least three functional areas (i.e., Batch, Database, Desktop, Middleware, Java Programming, Network, Security, Windows Server, Shared Services, Storage). 
    • Scripting and Automation.
    • Routing and Switching network skills with a working knowledge and understanding of TCP / IP core protocols and functions. 
    • Active Directory Services; Active Directory Group Policy Objects; Group Policy Management Console; DHCP; DNS.

     Preferred:

    Any combination will be considered relevant:

    • Microsoft Exchange. 
    • Microsoft SCCM. 
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 
    • Apache, Tomcat, Pivotal, JMS, and IIS. 
    • Experience with multiple operating systems or expert knowledge in one. 
    • Experience with managing an integrated computing environment spanning cloud and on premise. 
    • Experience with networked environments. 
    • Experience with network storage solutions. 
    • Experience with complex application interoperation and configuration. 
    • Experience with middleware and infrastructure. 
    • Experience with configuration and maintenance of FTP. 
    • Experience with monitoring tools. 
    • Experience with enterprise backup solutions. 
    • Fully proficient at LAN, WAN cable installation and testing. 
    • VMware management tools. 
    • SQL Administration. 
    • Cisco Switches/Routers/Firewall. 
    • VoIP.
    • Puppet Software
    • Openshift Software
    • Monitor and Logging Software: (AppDynamics, Linux, etc.)
    • Message Queueing software: (SwiftMQ,Websphere MQ, RabbitMQ)

      Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

     

    Must be able to lift 25 lbs. without assistance and up to 75 lbs. with assistance

     

    Duties are performed primarily in an office setting. Travel to attend meetings and visit locations throughout the country may be required. Operate computer and standard office equipment such as telephone, copier, and printer. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
