  • Summary

    This position is responsible for providing technical leadership, expertise and guidance related to the design, development, and implementation of software solutions that enable our business objectives.

    The Solutions Architect will apply proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of best practices, acting as a technical advisor, to guide in the planning and coordination of design, development and implementation of our mission-critical systems.

    Key Responsibilities - To simplify complexities for each customer

    1. Provide architecture expertise while collaboratively working with stakeholders in all areas of the business and IT to help achieve company objectives.
    2. Continually facilitate and assist with efforts to define the future state of the enterprise.
    3. Provide clear guidance and assistance on moving from current state architecture towards the future state through collaboration and/or architectural roadmaps/runways.
    4. Ensure effective governance of defined industry and company software practices and standards.
    5. Demonstrate and create prototypes, build reference architectures and define other effective solutions.
    6. Continually stay abreast on current industry trends and lead the research and development efforts accordingly through proof of concept implementations, workshops, etc.
    7. Provide guidance, coaching and effective assessments for various IT teams and initiatives.
    8. Create prototypes and demonstrate innovative and effective solutions that align with organization’s objectives and maintain competitive market advantage.
    9. Collaborate with various IT groups in continuously creating and modifying technology standards and practices.
    10. Champion product design, solution design and industry best practices in building and delivering best in class software.
    11. Effectively communicate using written, oral, non-verbal, and active listening skills. 

    Position Qualifications


    Bachelor's degree preferably in a computer science/engineering related field plus six to eight years of related experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

    Experienced in leading and implementing the design and delivery of software solutions.

    Experience in Healthcare and Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation industry is a plus.


    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Proven experience working with project teams in an influential role to deliver architecture solutions based on business requirements, technology standards, service level agreements and approved funding.

    Must have experience in identifying and implementing sound design patterns and capable of leading and facilitating design and modeling workshops with both business and technical team members.

    Preferred background with strong hands-on expertise in an Enterprise Java environment in building and deploying distributed applications. Strong experience in the Java Spring Ecosystem is a major plus.

    Must have excellent knowledge and experience with database and infrastructure design and best practices.

    Demonstrated a set of skills that include but not limited to:

    • Strong leadership, vision, effective communication and goal-oriented
    • Emotional maturity in guiding and influencing challenging team and development environments
    • Political awareness and skill to drive change

    Relevant experience with modern Web Application Development, Continuous Integration/Delivery, NoSQL, Microservices are a plus.

     Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

    Duties are performed primarily in an office setting. Travel to attend meetings and visit locations throughout the country may be required. Operate computer and standard office equipment such as telephone, copier, and printer. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
