  • Summary

    Serves as the technical resource in the strategic oversight, design and development of the information value chain. Provides technical, strategic advice and guidance in the creation and implementation of new information flow standards and establishing best practices concerning Information Governance, Information Data Flows and Integration Techniques.


    The Information Architect will act as a thought leader for their domain working directly with the Enterprise Architecture group to provide input on overall direction and guidance in the definition of Healthesystems’ current and future state architectures, including developing information-driven strategies, roadmaps, principles, standards, and best practices that align with EA and business objectives. An Information Architect’s skills and knowledge must span multiple information related domains and have the ability to facilitate enterprise-level discussions with multiple business and IT departments.

    Key Responsibilities - To simplify complexities for each customer

    1. Provide vision and leadership to define the core technologies necessary to meet business needs including: development tools and methodologies, package solutions, systems architecture, security techniques, and emerging technologies.
    2. Set the strategy for implementing Information Architecture best practices
    3. Develop, maintain and evangelize information architecture guiding principles, policies, best practices, reference architecture and standards
    4. Collaborate in the building and maintaining of an enterprise Information Flow models
    5. Coordinate the training and communication of Information architecture across the company
    6. Lead IDS (Integrated Data Store) strategy and architecture
    7. Coordinate with Data Architects to build Reference Data Management strategy
    8. Lead Meta Data strategy and architecture
    9. Work with business to develop conceptual data model
    10. Experience working as a member of distributed data architecture teams and federated architecture team.
    11. Identify business opportunities for applying leading and emerging information technologies at HES

    Position Qualifications



    Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university (in Information Technology or Computer Science preferred), plus 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • A minimum of 5 years of Data Architecture/Development experience and preferably 2 or more years in the Information Architecture domain
    • Preferred healthcare industry (payer and/or provider) experience
    • Conceptual and logical modeling experience with Erwin or similar tools required.
    • Advanced understanding of RDBMS principles, database design and normalization
    • Ability to comprehend advanced technical and logical concepts and adapt quickly to change
    • Ability to evaluate and make recommendations regarding data integrity
    • Ability to effectively diagnose, isolate, and resolve advanced problems pertaining to data infrastructure
    • Understanding of designing databases for performance including index design
    • Experience architecting and designing all types of data stores such as application databases, ODS, EDW, and Datamart, etc.
    • Complex data integration experience in the context of EDW
    • Experience with enterprise information strategy development and execution
    • Designing Logical and Distributed data warehouses
    • Demonstrated experience establishing standards for modeling, structuring, naming, describing, securing and formatting data
    • Ability to comprehend complex software systems at an abstract level
    • Proficient with ER and Dimensional modeling techniques
    • Exposure with ETL technologies such as SSIS, Informatica, etc.,
    • Proficient with BI tools like Power BI, SSRS
    • Attention to detail and maintaining high quality standards is a must
    • Demonstrates initiative and works independently with minimal supervision
    • Strong quantitative, analytical, problem solving, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are required
    • Strong interpersonal skills - must be able to work effectively as part of a project team and foster team co-operation
    • Preferred but not required: Knowledge on advanced technology concepts like Big Data, Hadoop, Hive, Cloud, etc.


    Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

    Duties are performed primarily in an office setting. Travel to attend meetings and visit locations throughout the country may be required. Operate computer and standard office equipment such as telephone, copier, and printer. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
